It Gets Better: Olivia Julianna

Olivia Julianna (she/her) is a Queer, Plus Size, Latina activist who at just 20 years old is the DIRECTOR of Politics and Government Affairs at Gen Z for Change — a nonprofit organization that is 100% youth led. 

Olivia is as bold and beautiful as her gold hoops, and seeing someone like her take up political spaces as a Latina, and represent her culture so gracefully, is empowering and inspiring.

Though being queer and Latine can be challenging, especially coming from a religious background, Olivia is proud of both of these identities and has learned to honor their coexistence. 

We are so grateful to have gotten the opportunity to explore Olivia’ Julianna’s It Gets Better story — she is blazing a trail for other activists and creating change as an unapologetically Queer, Plus Size, Latina.

Olivia Julianna (ella) es una activista Latina queer, de talla grande, que con solo 20 años es DIRECTORA de Política y Asuntos Gubernamentales en Gen Z for Change, una organización sin fines de lucro dirigida 100% por jóvenes.

Olivia Julianna es tan audaz y hermosa como sus aros de oro, es realmente enriquecedor ver a alguien como ella ocupar espacios políticos como Latina y representar su cultura con tanta gracia.

Aunque ser queer y Latine puede ser un desafío, especialmente viniendo de un entorno religioso, está orgullosa de ambas identidades y ha aprendido a honrar su coexistencia.

Estamos muy agradecidos de haber aprendido sobre Olivia Julianna y cómo es pionera y crea cambios como una Latina queer, de talla grande quien no se detiene por nada.
