Noahfinnce: 2025 Joy Rebel of the Year

By Jay, Bekah, and the Youth Voices Class of 2025

Noahfinnce tells the truth without dressing it up.

For those of us growing up trans, neurodivergent, or unsure about our identities, his videos and songs are a place where we can truly see ourselves. He doesn’t live to be some sort of inspiration, but rather for himself and his passions.

Noahfinnce fosters open communication about topics that strongly affect queer and trans teens. Through songs like “Asthma Attack”, he highlights the intensity of gender dysphoria and anxiety. Across his music and videos, he discusses what it’s like to be trans, documents his transition, and talks about the challenges of ADHD and autism in a way that feels sincere and grounded.

Later tracks like “Scumbag” and “Worms” speak to the frustration of wanting to be taken seriously, especially when adults or peers dismiss our experiences. For queer teens who often grow up online searching for community, Noahfinnce feels like someone who speaks our language. He gives us a version of masculinity that makes space for emotional honesty and vulnerability without shame. Listening to his music makes us feel a sense of community and belonging because his music balances these more difficult topics with humor and joy.

Noahfinnce is a joy rebel because he shows us that choosing joy can be its own form of defiance. In a political climate that targets trans youth at every turn, through songs like “Stupid” and “Life’s A Bit,” he rejects the idea that our stories must fit a narrow mold and encourages us to grow into ourselves at our own pace. Rather than accepting the bleak narratives often imposed on trans people, he uses humor and punk energy to create art that is energetic, playful, and unapologetically him.

Noahfinnce serves as a model for trans success. He went from a regular teen posting covers online to a well-respected content creator and musician. His ability to build a career from the ground up gives trans youth something to aspire to and hope for a joyful future.
