#BlackLivesMatter was founded by Alicia Garza, Patrisse Cullors, and Opal Tometi. As a queer Black woman, Patrisse Cullors has worked to center queer and trans people of color at the core of the cause, as witnessed through the #BlackTransLivesMatter sub-movement.
