There are so many words one could use to talk about Ivy Bottini. She was a comedian, an artist, a queer activist, a feminist icon, a mother. In 2015, we collaborated with ONE Archives and MSNBC to profile LGBTQ+ activists and trailblazers for a webseries. We called it Fearless, and Ivy Bottini most definitely earned that description as well!

Ivy Bottini passed away on Thursday, February 24 at the age of 94. She was surrounded by family, including her daughter, and she is celebrated by many. Tributes have poured in calling her colorful, charismatic, and magnetic — she lives a long and profound life, and her legacy lives on in the causes she championed and the people whose lives she touched.
